  A Rejuvenating Romance

Publisher: Harlequin Medical Romance  (March 2008)

Orthopedic doctor Dr. Dane Hendricks is every nurse's dream --- handsome and a take charge kind of guy when it comes to medicine but also warm and humorous. Rikki Johansen is a conscientious nurse, taking to heart all the lessons she learned in nursing school, and a woman dedicated to serving others. When a patient's medication is accidentally given to another patient, Dr. Dane Hendricks blames Rikki, no questions asked. When it comes to asking Rikki out for a date, Dane is just as confident of himself. Why is Dane so drawn to this scrawny woman with her unusual fashion sense? Dane is a single dad with two adorable twin girls and Rikki is a foster mother. Complications and misunderstandings arise to separate Dane and Rikki but when true love comes into play, can these two survive what life has to throw at them?

Single Dad, Nurse Bride is romance that begins with explosive tension that develops into an emotionally moving romance filled with passionate and tender moments between the hero and heroine. Rikki is the kind of woman who always puts others before herself. Her character will resonate deeply during hectic times at this moment. Ever read a book that is just sooo right for the moment? This was one of those books for me. Rikki’s story will resonate with anyone involved in charity work or those who care for others. It’s not just Rikki's character but I just sank into this book and felt rejuvenated after that kind of read. Why so rejuvenating? This romance has a fun sense of humor and lightness --- and even a bit of zaniness to Rikki's character --- and yet I discovered some heart-moving moments combined with some realistic and even sad moments. Readers may find themselves reserving a special place for Single Dad, Nurse Bride on their keeper shelf to reread, especially when life's demands require a satisfying, renewing romance read.
