Tyrone Brown is popular at school.  He is full of confidence and energy.  Tyrone likes math, science and sports.  What he doesn't particularly like --- books.  Then one day, everything changes.  When his teacher reads aloud, the characters suddenly come alive.  Books are more than books.  Reading is a door into other worlds -- worlds of science, history, ghosts and dragons, fantasy and mysteries.   These are worlds that interest Tyrone.

In READ ALL ABOUT IT!, authors Laura Bush and Jenna Bush Hager team together to share their love of reading with younger readers.  Bright, enthusiastic illustrations by Denise Brunkus, illustrator for the noted Junie B. Jones series, accompany the text.  Both image and words work together to create a world full of imagination.  Authors and illustrator both share with children the essential joy of reading.  Despite the authors' family high profile in political circles,
READ ALL ABOUT IT! is not a book about politics nor does it have a political bias.  READ ALL ABOUT IT! is a book about reading plain and simple.

Even though Tyrone narrates the book, the first few pages have more of a feel of a teacher's perspective than that of a child or reluctant reader.  As the story progresses, however, the authors quickly move forward into the heart of their story.  Once they focus on books, the joy of reading takes over.  READ ALL ABOUT IT! is a book to share with young children who have not yet discovered the magic of books.  READ ALL ABOUT IT! goes beyond the stereotypes of books to show the vast variety of topics available, topics to fit every need.  Parents sharing this book with children or grandchildren might find this book a very good catalyst for discovering what kinds of books to choose for reluctant readers.

READ ALL ABOUT IT! is not just a book for reluctant readers but also a book for avid readers as well.
READ ALL ABOUT IT! would make a great gift for teachers and librarians as well as for adult avid readers with a taste for children's books.  So few books capture so well the absolute magic of reading.  As an adult reader who has loved books all my life, I felt Laura Bush and Jenna Bush Hager boiled the beauty of books down to the most essential fun aspect of them.  This book would make a fun, whimsical gift for book club members and those dear friends with whom one share a love of books.  Most of all, as an adult, I would love to give this book to my first grade teacher who taught me the wonderful gift of reading.  Most of all, READ ALL ABOUT IT! is a book to share with all sorts of readers, reluctant and passionate alike!
