Ross
Mackenzie’s wedding didn’t happen. Instead, his bride-to-be
called off the wedding at the last moment and all Ross can feel is
relief. Of course, no one seems to believe him, least of all
Gemma Craven. Gemma was to be the bridesmaid but instead an
attraction is flaring up between Gemma and Ross….
THE GP’S MEANT-TO-BE BRIDE
is a sequel that ties directly into events occurring in
MARRYING THE RUNAWAY BRIDE.
While it isn’t necessary to read the first book to enjoy
THE GP’S MEANT-TO-BE BRIDE, it does
provide the reader with a bit more perspective on the events of the
storyline.
Gemma is a character I couldn’t help but adore and cheer for. She
has such an open and giving heart and yet her self-esteem has been
damaged by her physical injuries. Her loyalty to her best friend in
spite of her feelings for Ross is admirable. A love story arising out
of the ashes of another relationship is never easy, but Jennifer Taylor
writes a story that is both credible and powerful. Seeing Gemma
and Ross find their happily-ever-after is a truly rewarding experience.
The issue of self-esteem is prevalent throughout
THE GP’S MEANT-TO-BE BRIDE.
Jennifer Taylor does an excellent job at showing how fears over
physical appearance can cause multiple problems in other areas.
Through both Gemma and a situation involving a patient named Sarah, we
see the impact that negative reactions can have on others.
Jennifer Taylor has a very unique writing style. Her tales hit to
the core of the issues instantly as she takes readers right into the
minds of her characters. The reader is able to see the doubts and
fears of her characters as the atmosphere takes on an almost haunting
quality. Some may find this a bit disquieting but it’s a
refreshing and interesting approach.
THE
GP’S MEANT-TO-BE BRIDE packs one heck of an emotional punch that
stays with the reader long after the last page is turned.
