Falling for Mr. Dark & Dangerous
Falling for Mr. Dark & Dangerous by Donna Alward
by Donna Alward

Maggie Taylor wanted to be vacationing in Mexico instead of dealing with a guest at the bed and breakfast she runs.  Instead, her daughter, Jennifer, booked a reservation and is now heading back to school, leaving Maggie alone with Nate Griffith.  Nate is a U.S. Marshal on an undercover assignment, but will he break Maggie’s heart in the process?  Maggie and Nate both have dark secrets, secrets that could cost them everything.

Donna Alward writes one heck of an emotional story in FALLING FOR MR. DARK & DANGEROUS.  Her exquisite use of language conveys the heavy hearts of both Maggie and Nate while still showing just why their happily-ever-after is so appropriate. It’s not easy to take characters into such dark places and still write such a satisfyingly happy romance, but Donna Alward definitely succeeds with FALLING FOR MR. DARK & DANGEROUS.

Atmosphere is another critical key to the success of FALLING FOR MR. DARK & DANGEROUS.  Donna Alward expertly creates the sense of isolation in the mountain region where Maggie lives.  The ending is thus all the more believable as it fits the overall ambiance of the tale.  FALLING FOR MR. DARK & DANGEROUS is the first book I’ve ever read by Donna Alward but I’ll be sure to try more after this one.
