A heartwarming Christmas romance
THE COWBOY'S
CHRISTMAS
PROPOSAL is a tender Christmas short romance that is
heart-warming with a holiday theme in the background. Judy Christenbery
creates great characters, ranch scene and plot in this romance. Penny
Bradford lost her parents in a car accident. Her father had treated her
like a princess, protecting her after the death of her brother. With
her parents gone, Penny must learn to run the ranch by herself. Jake
Larson isn't too happy about the advances his boss Dexter's wife makes.
He is a man of integrity. When Dexter recommends him as ranch manager
to Penny, it seems both get what they want....except the growing
attraction between them puts a kink in their daily life. Can Penny and
Jake work together to tackle all the needs of the ranch and still find
time for love?
THE COWBOY'S CHRISTMAS
PROPOSAL has a touching portrayal of a small town's support for
its residents and for Penny's love for her father as she steps into his
shoes. This theme also highlights the tenderness and worthiness of the
hero Jake. Readers will appreciate the nicely detailed issues facing
cattle ranches. Judy Christenberry integrated them into the romance,
not just as description but as the center of the characterization and
plot. This Harlequin Romance read had a younger and gentle feel in the
heroine which will appeal to both adult readers seeking variety and to
younger readers. The steam factor is mild (and appropriate for younger
readers). The hero and heroine provide good role models and good
reading as the author shows them liking their job and good to each
other despite the miscommunications and uncertainties that occur. THE COWBOY'S CHRISTMAS PROPOSAL
shows both the daily practical side of ranching and the way a ranch
reaches out to the local community --- a very appropriate Christmas
theme. By focusing on the theme of giving, holiday traditions, food and
the Christmas tree, THE COWBOY'S
CHRISTMAS PROPOSAL creates the wonderful atmosphere for a
Christmas read while also being subtle enough in its holiday theme to
build organically throughout the novel with one's knowledge of the
characters. Some very heart-warming moments!
