What if the nightmares were real?

Ellie Monroe has enough problems to deal with at home without dreaming about monsters. Unfortunately, her dreams are now reality as Ellie is the Preliator, a reincarnated warrior who fights the reapers. Will is her Guardian, determined to keep her safe while helping her remember her past. Something has changed, though, as Ellie’s rebirth took longer than ever before and her memories of her past lives aren’t returning. Meanwhile, the forces of evil are gathering and developing a plan, a plan that could lead to the Apocalypse. Can Ellie and Will stop them in time?

ANGELFIRE starts off slowly but quickly picks up speed. The character development is superb, as we learn about Ellie’s past and her position as Preliator right along with Ellie. Ellie is more than a bit spoiled- after all, she receives an Audi as a present for her birthday- but she is quite likable despite this. The family issues she has to deal with add a sense of realism to a plot populated with monsters, angels, and talk of the Apocalypse. I don’t want to reveal spoilers but I’m hoping the author settles a lingering question I have about Ellie’s family in one of the next two books in this trilogy.

The world building is intriguing, particularly the ongoing battles occurring and the chance of an impending apocalypse. The action scenes are intense as Courtney Allison Moulton does a great job at creating tension in each scene. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series to see just how things turn out in this world. Bravo!
